Add an Instructor to a Group

We recommend adding instructors who manage the group or teach its classes to the group with group administration privileges. By granting group administration privileges, instructors can perform operational tasks themselves—such as adding members, assigning courses, reviewing learning analytics, and configuring class times—without going through an organization administrator.

Permissions That Can Perform This Operation

• Organization administrator
• Group administrator

Steps

1. Open Affiliation.
2. Open the organization name.
3. Open Groups.
4. Open the target group.
5. Open Members.
6. Enter the email address of the instructor you want to add.
7. Check Administrative privileges.
8. Click Add / Update privileges.

If You Cannot Add the Instructor

Only users who already belong to the organization that the group belongs to can be added to the group. If the instructor does not yet belong to the organization, first add them to the organization by inviting members to the organization.

Also, if the group has no administrators yet, only an organization administrator can add the first group administrator. If you receive an error when trying to work as a group administrator, ask an organization administrator for help.

Notes

• You can enter multiple email addresses at once.
• If you enter an existing member again, it is treated as an update to their privileges rather than as a new membership addition.
• You can also remove multiple group members at once by entering multiple email addresses. For details, see Remove members in bulk.
