Bulk Remove Members

You can remove multiple members from an organization or group at once.

Who can perform this operation

• Organization administrators
• Group administrators (only for groups they manage)

What you can do

• Bulk remove organization members
• Bulk remove group members
• Check in advance how many of the entered email addresses will actually be removed

Steps to bulk remove organization members

When a member is removed from an organization, their membership in all groups within that organization and their group administration permissions are also removed. Re-inviting them does not restore their previous group memberships or permissions. If you only want to remove administration permissions, change them by following the steps in Remove permissions.

1. Open Affiliations.
2. Open the organization name.
3. Open Members.
4. Enter the email addresses of the members you want to remove.
5. Check the removal count shown on the screen (for example, 2 members will be removed with the current input.).
6. Click Bulk Remove.
7. On the confirmation screen, check the number of members to be removed, and click Yes.
8. After removal, confirm that the target email addresses no longer appear in the member list.

Steps to bulk remove group members

1. Open Affiliations.
2. Open the organization name.
3. Open Groups.
4. Open the target group.
5. Open Members.
6. Enter the email addresses of the members you want to remove.
7. Check the removal count shown on the screen (for example, 2 members will be removed with the current input.).
8. Click Bulk Remove.
9. On the confirmation screen, check the number of members to be removed, and click Yes.
10. After removal, confirm that the target email addresses no longer appear in the member list.

How to enter addresses

• You can enter multiple email addresses separated by line breaks or spaces.
• Only members who currently belong to the organization or group will be removed.

When members are not removed

• Email addresses that do not currently belong to the organization or group will not be removed.
• If the removal count is 0, you cannot perform a bulk removal.

Notes

• The removal confirmation screen shows the number of members that will actually be removed.
• After removal is complete, the removal count on the screen returns to 0 members will be removed with the current input.
• Non-existent email addresses, or addresses that do not currently belong, are ignored even if they are included in your input.
