Collapsing Answered Questions

Questions (multiple-choice and free-response) embedded in the course material can be collapsed to make their display smaller once they have been answered. This feature is designed to keep answered questions out of the way when you review the material.

Collapsing/Expanding Individual Questions

• Answered questions will be displayed in a collapsed state the next time you open the material. Questions you answer after opening the page will remain expanded so you can check your results.
• To collapse an expanded question, press the Collapse button at the bottom-left of the question card.
• To expand a collapsed question, click anywhere on the collapsed question card. The downward arrow on the right edge of the card indicates it can be expanded.
• Unanswered questions cannot be collapsed. They are always displayed in the expanded state.
• Even when collapsed, one of the following labels appears next to the question number—Unanswered, Answered, Correct, or Incorrect—so you can check the status.

Collapsing/Expanding All Questions at Once

Press the Collapse Questions button on the menu bar at the top of the content card (to the left of the gear button) to choose from the following actions:

• Collapse All Collapses all answered questions. Unanswered questions cannot be collapsed, so they remain expanded.
• Expand All Expands all answered questions that are collapsed.
• Reset Cancels the manually expanded states and returns to the initial state (answered questions collapsed, unanswered questions expanded).

Saving Expansion States

Manually expanded states are saved in your browser for each piece of course material and are retained even when you close the browser. They are not carried over to other browsers or devices.
